Plastic Surgery in Spain
Breast augmentation surgery involves the use of breast implants to achieve a larger size, better symmetry, or as a method of reconstruction after a mastectomy.
This surgery is intended for people who want to change their breast size either for aesthetic reasons or to correct secondary consequences of breast cancer.
This procedure is usually performed under general anaesthesia (although it can be done with local anaesthesia) and it usually requires 1-2 hours.
The surgery consists of:
– Making an incision in one of these 3 areas:
– Under the areola or nipple
– Under the breast (breast groove)
In the armpit
- Introducing the prosthesis through the incision.
- As much as possible, the prosthesis will placed behind the muscle.
- Checking and suturing the breast symmetry.
After staying in the recovery room, you will be taken to the ward where you will stay for 12 hours or 1 day for recovery. Important postoperative guidelines will be given to you.
After the recovery period. you will be able to appreciate the results; having achieved fuller and anatomically symmetrical breasts.
If everything went well, you can return to your country once the stitches are removed, and this will take approximately 15 days.
However, if you are able to stay in Spain longer, the ideal time would be three or four weeks to monitor your progress. You should be fully recovered between two and six months.
