A gastric bypass is a surgical procedure that creates a small pouch in the stomach and is directly connected to the small intestine.
When food ingested enters this reduced stomach pouch, it will then pass directly into the small intestine, bypassing most of the stomach and the first section of the small intestine.
You will need to stay in Spain for at least a month, approximately, so that you can undergo a few check-ups before travelling. The doctor will tell you the exact length of time necessary.
Most patients who have undergone this surgery experience an almost total reduction in hip pain and a significant improvement in their quality of life as they are able to return to normal daily activities.
The recovery time to be able to return to your country is approximately 20 days.
Once in your country you will have to follow the guidelines given by the doctor so that you can finish your full recovery within 4 months. You will be able to return to your normal life in approximately six to twelve months.
If you are able to stay in Spain during the whole recovery process, you should stay here for around 4 months to monitor your progress with certain limitations, and between six and twelve months to achieve full recovery.
